Our founder and director, Mabel Higgins, brings over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, working in both the public and private sectors. She holds a BSc in Quantity Surveying and an MSc in Fire Engineering from the University of Ulster. She is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building and a registered fire risk assessor with the Institution of Fire Engineers.
Additionally, she is an Incorporated Chartered Fire Engineer, recognised by the Engineering Council, and can be found on the IFE’s Professional Registration. She has held several senior roles within Building Control Northern Ireland and is the founder of MH Fire Safety in 2018. Mabel also serves as the Chair of the Northern Ireland Building Regulations Advisory Committee (NIBRAC), advising on the amendment of Building Regulations.
In addition to her professional commitments, Mabel actively volunteers with the Institution of Fire Engineers Belfast Committee, contributing to the advancement of fire engineering practices.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to community welfare, the team participates in fundraising activities for local charities, including the MS Society, Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT), and Macmillan Cancer Support, through events such as the Belfast Marathon and Hyrox Dublin.
